  • Pledging abstinence for 24! Grateful to God for this day.
  • Good morning ((((Everyone)))). I'm happily in with my pledge to stay sober today. Going to a Double Recovery meeting today, and seeking out air conditioned buildings to hang out in, since it continues to be stupid hot. Hope you all have a good and sober Wed., and stay cool.
    Sarah
  • I pledge to be clean sober today and go to a men’s stag meeting tonight.
  • Hot afternoon but cool showers swept thru. Keeping the faith and telling fears to scat. Here for another day, free. Lucky lucky us!
  • Count me in with my pledge today for another one in the life of recovery
  • (((((((Pledgers))))))))) Here's my promise not to drink or drug for this 24!

The one thing an empowered recovery must pay closest attention to is what we accept as our own personal truths....not anyone else's. We cannot help but listen to what is being said around and to us, but we can help what we will or will not accept from those words. And it pays handsomely to choose carefully.
When I hear words like can't, shouldn't, aren't, couldn't, impossible.....or you must wait until some certain time period, I put the alert flags up in my mind. Those words can keep me from where I really want to be.
It also helps to know that even negative words being offered to us are most times well intended. We don't fault the messenger....only the negativity of the messenger.

Whenever anyone tells you in recovery you must do or not do anything other than where drink itself is concerned, or that you can't be or do something, perhaps you should consider they are only telling you what they cannot do or be themselves. What we listen to and accept is what we will become. Always.

Let's do this today gang! Together there is absolutely nothing we cannot face or accomplish in one way or another. Big Hugs on Everyone....thomas

Not drinking is success. That's it in a nutshell. When anyone doesn't drink one day at a time everything that poisoned and so negatively consequenced our lives dissapates and goes away. Having accomplished what…

    • Welcome, and have a sober fun day. See you here tomorrow. Love you
    • Yes you are! And we are all right here with you every step of the journey. We need you here! Keep sharing with us. Big Tennessee Welcome Hugs.....thomas
  • I am making progress on some big projects.
  • ....I had a mom write me today to remind me that her son that I worked with after many relapses, failures, and consequences to live through...is now celebrating 3 years sober this week. Her message was just beaming with gratitude and joy. My what a feeling!
  • Over the last day I have had to deal with a couple of mean spirited people.so thankful that is not me!
  • It has been eleven months today that I have been without alcohol. It’s ironic, I’m going over to my moms for dinner tonight and my whole family will be there. I never would have gone when I was stil drinking. I isolated from my family for a long time. Still have feelings of not wanting to “get involved”, but I have learned to accept people for who they are and to accept what they are capable of giving me. I probably won’t mention that it’s been 11 months, as I think my not drinking makes them a little uncomfortable. I now know that the way they feel is exactly that, their feelings. It is not my responsibility to make sure everyone “feels okay”.
    • That is beautiful. You won't have to say anything, you will say it by example, and what a great example you are. Enjoy.
  • .....whenever I'm counting my blessings, I always count all of you twice.
  • I was able to say no to a great friend and not feel guilty.
  • New opportunities that present themselves daily, if I leave my mind open to them.
