  • Pledge 24 hours to stay sober no matter what the day will bring
  • A sunny, sober day on this April 1st; no foolin!
  • (((((((Pledgers))))))))) Here's my promise not to drink or drug for this 24!

We can really make for ourselves a much more pleasant pathway if we simply ask ourselves in any situation and in every day......"What about this day is good and right?" When I hear folks say, " I'm watching and waiting for the next shoe to drop", I always ask, "Why don't you watch and wait for the flowers in life to bloom instead?" Because one or even a few events of situations have been unfortunate or have slapped us in the past is not reason to turn the other cheek to more negativity with expectations to be knocked off our feet. If we watch for dropping shoes, we are inviting them to come. If we watch for what is good to find us, we are inviting the good to come. We don't pretend that rougher situations are not there or haven't happened, but how much more pleasant to choose to dance in the rain......rather than just get wet. What we look for and focus upon is exactly what will come into our lives and take the front row seat.

It's another beautiful Spring day for each-othering the journey.....even if it's raining. Big Hugs on Everyone! thomas
    • Good afternoon Thomas! I am waiting for the flowers to bloom! I feel like I'm being carried along in this journey. Today, I really feel like my higher power is carrying me through to the place where I will feel I belong. This recovery thing really has a life of its own. Since I started posting on this site roughly a month ago, so much has changed. I've cried so many tears, I've experienced my relationships and emotions in such a different way. I wonder what will be next, I am here, waiting for the flowers to bloom.

  • of all the changes I'm seeing in myself. For the loving support and accountability for myself I've found in this website.
  • ....because all I asked for when I stopped drinking was for the pain to stop. In return I have been given a full, useful, and productive life, and all I had to do was take two words out of my dictionary...... powerless and impossible.
    • Never thought of it like that before... I will remove same... Thanks
  • I'm sober.
  • Because of the members who participate on this site. Nothing worked to keep me sober until I found all of you. "self knowledge availed us nothing"
